Prosthetic Patients Learning To Run
Prevail Prosthetics & Orthotics invited Peter Harsch to come and teach our patients his tips for running with their Prosthesis. Peter has been seen on the “Amazing Race” with his fellow triatheletes and IronMan competitors. He has worked directly with Brooke Army Medical Center fitting soldiers with the newest prosthetic technology, and helping them achieve their goals. Currently he owns and manages his own Prosthetics facility in San Diego CA, and conducts national clinical and technical seminars as seen below with Prevail Prosthetics & Orthotics Running Clinic. At Prevail we hear and understand that our patients want and need to sprint or run for fitness, or for regular activities, this is why we invited Peter to come over and help us out. Running with a prosthesis is different and requires the individual to understand the loading of their prosthetic limb is like bouncing on a diving board or trampoline. Timing is important in getting the most bounce from the foot for running or jogging. Please check out and like our videos, and as always if you have any questions about your prosthesis or running with a prosthesis, contact us.
